The Democratic Party has filed a complaint in Hamilton County against Republican Secretary of State candidate Charlie White.
Hamilton County Democratic Party Chair Keith Clock says he received a mailer from the White campaign, which he says does not include a disclaimer of who paid for the mailing. Clock says he filed the complaint with the Hamilton County Prosecutor on Thursday.
If the disclaimer is missing from the mailer, it's a violation of an Indiana Code. Clock says he hopes the Prosecutor's office looks into the matter, but he is the Democrat Party member on the Election Board and he adds they will definitely be talking about the matter.
The White campaign sent this email in response for comment: "It has come to our attention that a mail piece was sent out in early October by our campaign without the proper disclaimer on it. This was a simple mistake that was made during the editing process, and was clearly unintentional as all our other print literature has the disclaimer. Any attempt to turn this innocent mistake into a political issue is a gross overreaction."
